Food banks in the UK are in more demand than ever, as the country battles a cost of living crisis with inflation rising and energy bills increasing substantially. As the festive season is just around the corner, more pressure is put on families to have enough food and other essentials for their children and themselves over the Christmas period.
Glenman Corporation is playing its part for the third year in a row by providing generous food parcels to 24 food banks in and around London. The final food parcel was delivered on the 14th of December – just in time for the festive period.
Glenman’s Head of Bids and Social Value, Jillian Lilico, is delighted that we are running this campaign for the third year in a row; “A total of 9.7 million adults experienced food insecurity in September 2022, the Food Foundation reports. I would like to give a big shout-out to all the fantastic Glenman employees who worked hard to put this campaign together and to support 24 local community foodbanks in London and the South East in their drive to improve access to nutritious and affordable food.”
